TRAINING PROGRAMS

ATHLETE CONSTRUCTION adheres to the goal of creating safe, effective and challenging sport-specific training programs that can be done anywhere, any time with minimal equipment.

ATHLETE CONSTRUCTION programs are created on CD-Rom. User-friendly CD’s include video clips with detailed audio explanations for every exercise and drill, and printable workout sheets for workout are provided. Programs are designed for year-round use but are specifically designed for use during the off-season and pre-season. Programs are 18-weeks in length and include three 6-week phases that effectively progress athletes in all areas of performance.



HOCKEY I (Beginner-Intermediate)

ATHLETE CONSTRUCTION’s HOCKEY I program is perfect for players who are relatively new to off-ice training. This program builds a solid foundation in all areas of athleticism- mobility, speed, agility, quickness, core strength and work capacity. Conditioning is included. Workouts are easy to follow and are performed 3-4 times each week (depending on the phase of training). The program can be completed with only 4 inexpensive pieces of equipment- a medicine ball, stability ball, ankle band and resistance cord (with handles)- and includes an evaluation plan and an extensive performance nutrition section.



HOCKEY II (Advanced)

ATHLETE CONSTRUCTION’s latest program features U.S. national team player, Angela Ruggiero. This advanced hockey-specific program is for serious players who have a minimum of 1-2 years of off-ice training experience. The HOCKEY II (advanced) program focuses on the critical aspects of on-ice performance: acceleration speed, first step quickness, agility, core strength and power, total body strength, and hockey-specific conditioning. A supplemental goalie-specific section is included that effectively addresses reaction time, lateral quickness, mobility and stamina. Equipment needs include: a medicine ball, stability ball, ankle band, resistance cord, dumbbells, Bosu Trainer and slideboard (optional). HOCKEY II also includes an evaluation plan and detailed performance nutrition section.


CORE STRENGTH

ATHLETE CONSTRUCTION's CORE STRENGTH DVD is a comprehensive core training program designed for athletes of all ages and abilities. The 36-week program progresses you through 12 exercise levels. Workouts train the core the way it is used in sport and everyday life! A combination of stabilization, rotation, flexion and lateral flexion exercises are incorporated to develop superior form and function. The entire program can be completed with a stability ball.
